PATHFINDING is a cross-disciplinary collaboration between visual artist Mariane Lyngsø and Bente Lilja Lyhne, featuring music by composer Rebecca Ryan thomsen and culinary contributions by chef Jakob Vinkler.

The projekts unfolds as a shared artistic universe in which visual art, music, food and spoken voices intersect. Across the works, paths appear as physical structures, circular movements, bodily gestures and imagined routes. Ladders suggest vertical movement and aspiration, while tracks, loops and clustered figures point towards circulation, repetition and movement across the ground.

The installations and sculptural works bring together fragile human forms, animals, found objects and organic materials. Some elements appear almost weightless and monochrome, while others are dense, tactile and bodily. Familiar objects are displaced from their usual context and become part of new, slightly uncanny constellations.

As a part of the project, twelve people were interviewed about their thoughts and expectations for the future. There recording voices were played during the dinner, introducing a polyphonic layer of personal reflection into a shared experience. At another point, and elderly man song “An die Freude” Beethovens melody for the European anthem, adding a historical and collective dimension to the evening.

Rather than proposing a single direction, PATGFINDING explores the act of searching itself: how we navigate between order and disorder, the earthly and imagined, the personal and the collective, the familiar and the unknown. Paths emerge, cross, dissolve and continue in unexpected directions.
